    Aspen Gay Ski Week (AGSW) is the oldest annual, week-long Diverse ski event in the nation. A model for other LGBTQ+ ski weeks, AGSW offers a one-of-a-kind vacation experience in the scenic and historic mountain towns of Aspen and Snowmass in Colorado. AGSW visitors enjoy four mountains of varied skiing and snowboarding terrain, as adequately as cross-country skiing, snowshoe, and winter hiking trails in the Elk Mountains of Colorado.

    Not Just a Party – AGSW is a Non-Profit Fundraiser
    AGSW is also the annual fundraising event for AspenOUT, a local non-profit and (c)(3) organization. AspenOUT focuses on anti-bullying and mental health services in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.     If you have pre-purchased rentals through AGSW, they will be available at any of the Four Mountain Sports Rental locations. No vouchers are required this year for rentals. Please retain your email confirmation, as it includes a link to your barcode for utilize with the PUBs and a sales order number you will need to reference for your rental equipment.

    The Story of Aspen Gay Ski Week

    Arguably the biggest party of the winter season, Aspen Lgbtq+ Ski Week has matured. Now entering its 48th year (taking place January 12–19, ), the beloved LGBTQ+ ski event with a worldwide draw is bigger, broader, and more inclusive than ever—par for the course given its proud history.

    It was the party culture of the ’70s clashing with old-fashioned unacceptance that led to the formation of a nonprofit to jog Aspen Gay Ski Week and use it as a oblige for good in the people. During the decade, a team of local men had started regularly hanging out with homosexual visitors from ski clubs around the country. By , the reunions became more official, with each club hosting parties in their condos on different nights for a week in January, and the local contingent throwing the welcome party.

    But as liberal as Aspen was, being lgbtq+ in public wasn’t universally acknowledged (hence the condo parties)—a truths that spurred Jon Busch, one of Aspen Gay Ski Week’s founders, to advocate for lgbtq+ rights after getting in trouble for dancing with another male at a local bar.
