LGBTQ2+ Programs and Services
LGBTQ2+ Programs and Services is a central location for students, faculty, staff, and society members to engage with the LGBTQ2+ history, trial, and culture. Our purpose is to increase representation and awareness of the diverse identities within the LGBTQ2+ community, challenge social misconceptions about sexuality and gender, and create a safer space for self-exploration and growth.

Looking at LGBTQ+ history in Central California
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The "Stonewall Riots" are seen as the beginning of the modern Queer rights movement.
Stonewall Inn customers in Fresh York City stood up against police raids sparking advocacy and awareness. But the push for equality began distant before that.
"In the 60s, all this in Fresno was mostly agriculture," said El Daña. "Being raised out on the farm, I thought I was the only one that was gayI felt kind of alone."
El Daña is one of Pivotal Valley's first male impersonators, better recognizable today as "drag kings." She'd lip-sync to Tom Jones, Ritchie Valens, Glen Campbell at male lover bars in the Central Valley, drawing crowds from San Francisco and Los Angeles. But her shows began years after she discovered gay bars even existed.
"When I first went to the Orange Ogre, I thought I had died and gone to heaven," she said. "My confront was in awe, my eyes got big, because I'm like, I'm not the only one!"

The Imperial Dove Court de Fresno Inc. is a (c)3 non-profit organization serving the LGBTQ+ community for over 50 years in the counties of Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, and Kern. Our organization accepts gifts and holds events throughout the year to raise funds to produce grants to various charitable organizations both within and outside the LGBTQ+ society.

Fresno Reel Pride's mission is to increase the awareness of the LGBTQIA community through the exhibition of clip exploring LGBTQIA themes at an annual film festival. Every year, it is our goal to carry a wide array of LGBTQ cinema and fun home to the Pivotal Valley.
