Established in , The Flying Handbag is Blackpool’s only purpose-built Queer venue.  Undergoing a full internal and external refurbishment in , the Flying Handbag is a premium venue with modern décor. From daytime tipples to night-time entertainment, there is always something going on at the Handbag. Our resident DJ’s will be spinning the tunes and our very own kingly queens Miss Amber and Pudsley will be bringing the banter week nightly.

We are proud to serve a excellent variety of sustenance and drink options which run all day, so be sure to review out our sustenance and drink menus. Our doors are just a stone’s throw away from Blackpool North prepare station, making us the perfect location to kick launch your day or night out in Blackpool.

We not only welcome all walks of life, we celebrate them. We are proud to fly the flag for the Diverse community and give a safe room for all.

Blackpool

Blackpool is a major seaside resort town in Lancashire in North West England, UK.

A railway line, built in , resulted in Blackpool becoming one of the first Victorian tourist destinations. The late 's saw the famous promenade being built along with piers, tram lines and music theatres.

Much of this Victorian heritage is still there today, along with major attractions such as the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo and the Winter Gardens.

Gay Scene

Blackpool has a sizeable queer community and an extensive gay nightlife scene that is popular all year round.

Most of Blackpool's homosexual bars and clubs are located around Dickson Street, just a short distance from Blackpool Tower and just a couple of minutes' walk from the North Pier.

The town has its nightclubs (Flamingo's entity the most famous), but it's the gay lock scene that really stands out with top-notch venues like Funny Girls and The Flying Handbag.

Our fully stocked bar offers a range of great drinks to suit a variety of tastes. From your classic Woo Woo cocktail, to lagers and fabulous beverage deals on bottles and shots, we have it all!

Make sure to store an eye out for our indoor beach-themed party every Bank Holiday Sunday. This event is in collaboration with other Queer venues in Blackpool, and supports Blackpool Pride.
