Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is banned in Saudi Arabia.
According to The Hollywood Writer, the Doctor Strange sequel will not show in Saudi Arabia, with the decision reportedly comparable to the film's inclusion of America Chavez, who is portrayed by Xochitl Gomez, who is canonically gay in Marvel Comics. The ban reportedly includes Kuwait as well, though this has not been confirmed. Multiverse of Madness will follow in the footsteps of Marvel's Eternals and Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, whichwere both banned in countries across the Gulf for similar reasons.

Marvel boss talks America Chavez's LGBTQ culture in Doctor Strange 2
Marvel executive Victoria Alonso has commented on Doctor Strange 2 character America Chavez's LGBTQ self, confirming that the movie will be sticking to that detail from the comics.
America will be played by Xochitl Gomez in the movie (officially titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Madness). She's a teenager with the ability to travel between dimensions by punching open doorways, who's struggling to approach to terms with what makes her different.
"[America] is a young Latina who is part of the LGBTQ+ group, and has wonderful power," Alonso said in a brand-new interview with . "Children want to see themselves represented. There is this level of persona that comes to be a very important moment in an adolescent's existence – to spot themselves; to not be invisible."
