LGBTQIA Resource Center Glossary

GLOSSARY

The terms and definitions below are always evolving, altering and often imply different things to different people. They are provided below as a starting point for discussion and understanding. This Glossary has been collectively built and created by the staff members of the LGBTQIA Resource Center since the early s.

These are not universal definitions. This glossary is provided to support give others a more thorough but not entirely comprehensive understanding of the significance of these terms. You may even consider asking someone what they mean when they use a legal title, especially when they use it to describe their individuality. Ultimately it is most important that each individual describe themselves for themselves and therefore also define a word for themselves.

“If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.” -Audre Lorde

This glossary contains terms, such as ableism and disability, that may not be considered directly related to identities of sexuality or gender. T

Igualidad Para La Comunidad LGBTQIA+

julez: some fire skillers (), eth 18% fire eschutas
sip: fire skillers, marrows

and only the three of us had access to it. so julez left us a while ago (but cam back for some man-loving ) and it was me and sip for the longest time. however, sip is not a very patient beoch, and when i wasnt on and he wanted some chanting, he gave away passes to a few people. by a several i actually mean a lot, and soon people left and right knew the pass.

stuff started to disappear from the mule. at first it was just 1 or 2 ravenclaws, and i was fine with that, because (1) who cares about ravens (2) i was result more

Adult LGBT Population in the United States

This report provides estimates of the number and percent of the U.S. adult population that identifies as LGBT, overall, as well as by age. Estimates of LGBT adults at the national, state, and regional levels are included. We rely on BRFSS data for these estimates. Pooling multiple years of data provides more stable estimates—particularly at the state level.

Combining BRFSS data, we estimate that % of U.S. adults identify as LGBT. Further, we estimate that there are almost million (13,,) LGBT adults in the U.S.

Regions and States

LGBT people reside in all regions of the U.S. (Table 2 and Figure 2). Consistent with the overall population in the Merged States, more LGBT adults stay in the South than in any other region.
