Tawny cypress gay
The Shudder docuseries Queer for Fearwrapped its four-episode run, and I promise I contain a full review dropping tomorrow, but just authentic quick I wanted to touch down on an extremely important piece of information tucked into the horror docs haunted hallways: Yellowjackets actor Tawny Cypress is queer.
Cypress appears as a talking head in Queer for Fear right off the bat in episode one, talking candidly about Mary Shelleys oft-erased-from-history queerness. The second I saw her, I immediately texted fellow Tawny Cypress appreciator Drew Gregory to ask: Wait, did we know shes out?
We most absolutely did not know! I remember when I first swan dove off a cliff into Yellowjackets and immediately needed to know everything about everyone involved whose oeuvres I was less familiar with. I was optimal acquainted with Cypress via her run on Heroes, but I didnt know as much about her personal life as I did when it came to some of her other co-stars. I did what any good homosexual does when encountering an performer playing a queer role whose sexuality I dont know off the
YELLOWJACKETS Star Tawny Cypress on Taissas Narcissism and Creating the Other Tai
Yellowjackets season two is in packed swing with two timelines that are leaving us with a lot of questions. There are a ton of theories and discourse about whether the wilderness wields supernatural influence, Lottie’s community, and, of course, what that symbol actually means. But, in terms of characters, there’s no one quite as baffling as Taissa “Tai” Turner.
The newly minted New Jersey State Senator is certainly not doing her job because, adv, she’s currently in a crisis. (Yes, that’s putting it lightly but ease up off, sis; she’s trying her best!) Tai’s other identity is pushing her in another route and, in the past timeline, we are still seeing glimpses of that man with no eyes. What the hell is going on with Tai? There are no unmistakable answers to that ask in Yellowjackets so far, but we do realize that we are loving what Tawny Cypress is doing with this personality. Nerdist caught up with her to talk about crafting the Other Tai’s p
We've got a large crush on Yellowjackets' Tawny Cypress and Jasmin Savoy Brown
Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tawny Cypress are deep in conversation. Their hands are clasped around each other’s and Jasmin is perched on Tawny’s lap, as they talk in rapid succession in between sips on San Pellegrinoand compliments of each other's outfits. It feels rude to interrupt the moment, but I have to interject with a reminder that we’re here to chat about their roles as the teenage and adult versions of Taissa in Yellowjackets.
The Emmy-nominated series is assist for its third instalment, with the first two episodes having dropped on Valentine’s Day. An appropriate day given the show's cherish for quite literally eating your heart out (RIP Jackie and Javi). For the uninitiated, Yellowjackets follows a s football team of teenage girls, whose plane crashes over the Canadian wilderness, forcing them (well, some of them) to endure experience in the savage for the next 19 months. Simultaneously, we watch the survivors some 20 years later in the present morning, as the injure of their past catches up with The Yellowjackets have been through it. Seriously, the young women at the center of Showtime’s thriller Yellowjackets have seen the worst of humanity and been a part of it themselves. Not only did the girls soccer team spend a year and a half fending off the endless dangers of the wilderness after a plane collapse, the few survivors who walked away spent the next 20 years nursing the many traumas that left them with physical and metaphorical scars. Only in a few instances were they qualified to find solace, and often it was in the arms of each other. As friends, and as lovers, the feelings of romance and passion that went hand in hand with surviving significantly affected how all the Yellowjackets faced love in the years after the fall. It’s what makes the series a twisted love story on so many levels, some of which are still being unraveled as it heads into Season 3. But in real life, the actors behind the survivors hold forged much more normal treasure stories that weren’t forged from horrifying exInside the Yellowjackets Casts Buzzy Real-Life Romances
